Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Nowhere Edition (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit nowhereedition.com, why we collect it, how we use cookies, and the rights you have. We are committed to handling your data carefully and transparently, in line with data protection law including the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who we are
The person responsible for your information is Nowhere Edition, operated by Marco Lo Faro (London, UK). For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].
What we collect and why
Information you give us
- Your email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter or request a travel guide. We use this to send you the guide and our journal, with your consent.
- Enquiry details, when you email us or contact us via WhatsApp about a trip. We use these to respond to and plan your enquiry.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data — pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, and similar analytics — collected via cookies only after you consent. We use this to understand what our readers enjoy and to improve the site.
- Campaign measurement data, collected via the Meta Pixel and Google Tag Manager, only after you consent to marketing cookies, to measure and improve our advertising.
Our legal bases
- Consent — for our newsletter, and for all analytics and marketing cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for keeping the site secure and functioning, and for responding to enquiries you send us.
- Contract — where we are arranging a service you have requested.
Cookies and similar technologies
When you first arrive, our consent banner asks what you allow. Nothing but strictly necessary cookies loads until you choose. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.

Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the site, each acting under contract:
- Kit (ConvertKit) — email newsletter delivery.
- Google — analytics and tag management.
- Meta — advertising measurement (Meta Pixel).
International transfers
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe, enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to assist you and for a reasonable period afterwards, and cookie-based data for the retention periods set by each provider. Your cookie consent choice is re-requested at least every six months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You may also unsubscribe from any email using the link in that email.
If you have a concern you feel we have not resolved, you have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), ico.org.uk. If you are in the EU, you may instead contact your local supervisory authority.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
